A Blue Future – Our Ethos

Liberty Leading the People, painted by Eugène Delacroix in 1830

When I think of politics I think of a group of people steering a ship across the ocean. Some think we should steer left, some think we steer right. Some want to rock the boat to make big changes, others want to stay the course and make incremental progress. But the nature of democracy means that no one direction will be in favor all of the time. Politics is fighting over the wheel of the ship, but democracy is the ship itself. We will get somewhere, we will make progress. But like a crowd of people fighting over the wheel of a ship, it’s messy, no one’s happy, but a better future is out there.

This painting by Eugène Delacroix from almost 200 years ago depicts a heroic yet fictional moment of the French Revolution. When I look at this painting and I am moved and fell inspired to take action. Not by the root political causes, but by the emotional core of what it represents. Politics for most people is emotional first and foremost.

The way to fight for political action is through emotion. Is through rousing the human spirit and feel like we are collectively participating in our own destiny. Marketing is the modern way of calling people to action. That’s where Blue Future comes in. We want to fight for the future we believe in and help others who are on the same path. The future is now, let’s make it blue.
